Passport to Summer ~ Surrey, BC / by Alana Moran

Well Summer is finally here and I wanted to share something I did for my kids this year.  I actually had seen someone do something similar for their boyfriend with regards to a restaurant passport with places for them to try.  I figured I could take this idea and turn it into a Passport to Summer for the kids.

First off I found these neat little notebooks at Walmart, they came in a 3 pack for $3.

2013-07-03_0001I really liked these because they are small and I think they sort of look like a Passport in many ways.

Then I made a list of a whole bunch of things we could do with the kids this summer.  The list has all sorts of things on it from simple things, like blowing bubbles, making fruit salad, to more complex things that take planning, such as going to the zoo or having an ice cream sundae bar.  I made labels so I could just stick them on the pages of the books.

labelsI think there are about 50 in total.  Some of the things can be completed more than once, like read a book, so each time they complete a task they will get a sticker. Some things will be a one time event.

Here is what the book looks like all completed.

Passport to Summer FunThe kids were so excited when I gave them their passports.  They have already started to complete some items.  I personally love this idea because it gives them ideas of things they can do, and it also shows them some of the fun stuff we have planned.

If you are interested in the word file that contains the labels I would be more than happy to share them with you, just send me a message.

I hope you and your family have a fantastic summer.  Be sure to check back here as I will be posting pictures from some of our adventures that come from the Passport to Summer!

Thanks for reading, I appreciate it!
